Many people are eating “well” by modern standards, yet still not achieving optimal health. This talk explores what’s often overlooked in nutrition, and you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of what actually matters, and what doesn’t. Dr. Casey will explore the latest research, time-tested traditions and her own clinical experience for what "food as medicine" really means.
Casey earned a degree in Nutritional Sciences with a pre-med track at Cornell University and got the opportunity to study public health in Geneva, Switzerland, gaining insights into how culture and policy affect health. She then obtained a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University, focusing on holistic approaches to healthcare. After graduation, she worked in a productive holistic clinic as a primary care physician. An active lifestyle and extensive experience on farms shape her understanding of health, reinforcing her belief in the importance of our connection to food and the environment in promoting long-term health. This connection influences her patient care approach.
